About us - Local Neighborhood & Community
|
 |
A highlight of our local CAC involvement is a "Children's Room" at the LAPD Southeast Division station. Conceptually the room was designed to provide a comfortable safe haven for children removed from crime ridden environments while they await arrival of the Child Social Services.
Funded exclusively by Hitachi Transport, the room is furnished to accommodate children between the ages newborn to 13 years for short durations.
Furnishing include:
- TV
- VCR
- Videos
- Bassinets
- Playpens
- Children's Picnic Table
- Educational Toys and Books
- Art Board
- Clothing
- Hygiene Products and more!
Also, with the safety and welfare of children in mind, Hitachi Transport purchased 2000 identification kits for the LAPD Southeast community and volunteered to participate in a first LAPD National Night Out event where kits were distributed, fingerprints were taken and 2000 neighborhood children were documented for parental records.
Several Hitachi Transport employees volunteered to work alongside members of law enforcement in this endeavor with great appreciation from neighborhood leaders.
